News Round Up
May has been a huge month at Aquagait!
We have seen record numbers of horses as our business continues to build momentum. We are incredibly appreciative of all the support from our clients. There are too many of you to name and thank individually, so to all of you we simply say thanks so much for choosing Aquagait to condition your horse!
We welcomed some new clients this month including leading Warwick Farm trainer Jason Coyle. Jason's stable has been on fire in recent months, training 17 winners over the April & May period, at an average ROI of 25% which is great for punters that follow the stable. We also thank Angela Davies from the Central Coast. Angela only prepares a small team of horses and we thank her greatly for sending us several horses to pre train.
From the nations capital we thank Joe Cleary along with Paul Jones & Barb Joseph for choosing Aquagait. We already receive great support from Matthew Dale & Luke Pepper, so it great to have two more of the areas leading trainers working with us.
Our highlight for May was the success enjoyed by John Steinmetz with his ever improving mare Hillary Step. Following a brief freshen up at Aquagait in April, Hillary Step travelled to Nowra where she produced a strong finish to overrun her rivals. Following this, John then sent her back to Aquagait for 5 days of post race recovery on the Water Walker. At her next race start, some 26 days post her Nowra win, Hillary Step again got the chocolates with a strong 2.6L win at Bathurst. John only prepares a small team out of Warwick Farm and we are so happy to see him enjoying success. Full credit to John on his preparation and placement of the mare!
We were also quite chuffed to see Kudero salute at Randwick on May 27. Kudero has been a regular Aquagait and he is a lovely horse to do anything with. He had his freshen up with us in April and it was great to see him return in winning fashion and at juicy odds for punters. We congratulate Clarry Conners on preparing the 6yo son of Choisir to be ready to win off a 63 day break. Clarry is a great supporter of Aquagait and we thank him greatly for this support.
With so many horses in pre training across May we look forward to watching them return to the races in the coming weeks and months.
It was a relatively quiet month on the Harness scene with no feature racing and many of our trainers resting their key runners for the upcoming June features or Queensland winter carnival. David Thorn continued his good form with horses like Early Decision and Outrageous El flying the stable flag.
The leading training partnership of Shane & Lauren Tritton continued with their rehab of leading pacers Arms of Angel and Lombo Kotakinabaluh. Both horses use the Water Walker as part of their training/rehab process.
King of the claimers Leon Jurd has been a bit quieter as he replenishes his racing stock. Leon continues to be one of our most loyal clients and we look forward to him producing a new crop of claimers in the coming months.
The addition of our high speed treadmill has been a vitally important ingredient in the development of our pre training programs. We also incorporate the use of the treadmill in our injury rehab programs.
In May we also welcomed a new team member, Brooke Wilkins. Brooke is an accomplished young horse woman at just the tender age of 19. We are excited to have Brooke on our team and we have no doubt her caring nature and attention to detail will only compliment what we do.
