How did you start out in the industry?

My parents owned racehorses when I was kid, so I started going to the races and developed an interest. Once I was old enough I began working in the industry and the rest is history.

Biggest influence on your career?

Tim Donnelly & David Mills. Both have tremendous experience and have taught me so much when working for them.

What do you like most about working at Aquagait?

It presents a different perspective to training horses. The variety of horses that come through and the different approach to conditioning them is both interesting and rewarding.

Favourite Racehorse?

Not one stands out, too many to choose from.

Biggest achievement in the industry?

Training Just As Cosmic to run 4th in the Queensland Oaks. She also won the Wagga Guineas in the same prep which was very exciting.

Most important learning?

Be patient.

Sprinters or stayers? Why?

Stayers. They are more complex and more of a challenge, therefore provide greater satisfaction.

Favourite stallion?

Don't have one.

Favourite Race?

Melbourne Cup. I also love country cups, the atmosphere and the people involved are awesome!

If you could change one thing in the industry what would it be?

The hours that people work is very challenging and probably needs to change for the future benefit of the industry.
